It depends on what you mean by the "actual...library". The source code
for all com.sun.j3d.* packages is in the j3d-core-utils project.
However, it isn't set up to be built as a standalone library, but is
built as a part of the j3d-core build. For this reason, the binary
j3dutils.jar file is distributed with the j3d-core project.

Excellent, thanks for starting the new project and preparing to contribute your source, time and effort to the community.

Until the project is approved I don't believe you can upload anything into the CVS repository. Sun is actually shutdown this week for the 4th July holdiay so almost everyone is on vacation. Having said that I'm sure the java.net guys will be checking and responding to email (as I am) so you should not have to wait too long. Incidently what is the name of the project ?

skinandbones. It provides a special mesh object that can be deformed
with a skeleton to allow easy animation of models in Java3D.

The project is now approved so you can add the code to CVS etc. Sorry it took so long but as I said before most people at Sun were on vacation last week.

hello.
I'd like to contribute doc and fixes to j3d core.
How is that possible, or maybe, when?

yes, been there, done that.
As the infos are outdated ( imo, we are not early july anymore ), that was also meant to be a reminder, if needed, to get that document changed with revelant information. (or better, release the JCA)
I guess i will still have to wait without clues.

An other question. Will the actual com.sun.media.j3d util library be part of the j3d-utils section?

Sorry for the delay on the Joint Copyright Assignment. As I mentioned
earlier, most of Sun was shutdown last week and almost everyone was on
vacation. I hope to have more information about the JCA later this week.
At the very least, I will change it from early July to mid-July if it
isn't ready before the 15th. ;-)
