[JAVA3D-INTEREST] Geomtry vs Appearance Update Delay

Hello,

Back in April of 2003 Kelvin Chung posted to the mailing list talking about
a 1 frame delay when updating Appearance nodes vs Geometry nodes:
http://archives.java.sun.com/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind0304&L=java3d-interest&D=0...
3&P=39585

I was wondering if anyone knew if this delay still applies for the current
Java3D version and what specifically it applies to. I am modifying
RenderingAttributes directly using:
myShape.getAppearance().getRenderingAttributes().setVisible(false);
Will this suffer from the one frame delay as well?

Thanks,
-mike

Mike,
Yes, it is still true for the current version of Java 3D.
Potentially huge data objects such as geometry and texture will have one
less frame delay than smaller data objects such as Appearance, Material
and other attributes objects. This is a Java 3D implementation side
effect for not creating a mirror copy for geometry and texture. Kelvin
has posted a good workaround in that email.
