Hi guys!

How can I use a single texture like opacity map ?

I mean, imagine a bitmap in a gray scale. From black to white... How can I use this on a quad geometry to make it "invisible" ?

Thank you!

Well, yesterday I can access your site once... Now it seem to be a problem there...

I am curious to take a look at your code.. Anyway, nice book huh ?

The correct link is:

Basically you can just assign the texture image to your geometry (set
your geometry to transparent). If your image includes an alpha channel
(GIF or PNG for example) then you can vary the Alpha in your image to
control the transparency.

There are a few examples of this in "Java 3D Programming"

You can download the code from the site. Look at AppearanceTest for
example -- which lets you do this interactively.

Sincerely,

Dan
