Has anyone done boolean operations like unite or subtract on primitives (cube, sphere, cylinder, cone).

Uhm... no, sorry, i never needed that kind of ops.

But have a look at danbalby's javadoc (it is "english") and the
Bibliography-links (Sunday, D. Geometry Algorithms !). That are more or less
the standart works on the subject.
