Hi guys...
Easy one for you gurus!
:)

How can I use quaternion information data provided by my custom maxscript in the following format:

[0.0,-1.57429,1.5708]

to current align to my TransformGroup objects ?

thanks!

Check out the Matrix and Quaternion FAQ for your answers on how to go
from this to a matrix.

FWIW, that data you've posted is not a quaternion. There's only 3
dimensions provided, which means it's either a set of euler angles or a
direction vector. A quaternion has 4 dimensions to it.

Hi there...
I am sorry for this stupid request but I am unable to understand that link, Justin...
I mean, its ok to read and understand 'regular' texts in english but not at this technical level...

Can you provide a simple routine to translate euler info into my j3d transform ?

I think it will help me to understand what is euler angles, how it does work and etc...

thank you!
:(

why don't you directly use the setEuler method of the Transform3D class ?
here is a link to the javadoc, where you'll find also a quick explanation on
what Euler Angles are all about :
http://java.sun.com/products/java-media/3D/forDevelopers/J3D_1_3_API/j3dapi/javax/media/j3d/Transform3D.html#setEuler(javax.vecmath.Vector3d)

hope it helps
