I am sorry, but there is a simple way, maybe some kind of behavior, to simulating a first person camera look ?

Using mouse, of course...

I have been trying a lot of methods, but none suceeded.

:(

thanks

You also could have a look at the Navigator class of the Java XTools-Package (please refer the documenation at http://www.3dchat.org/doc/com/vwp/j3d/utils/behaviors/keyboard/KeyNaviga... ), I think it offers what you are looking for (including gravity, acceleration, terrain-following and collision detection).

I am really sorry Oxy but I cant find what you said!

:(

I've downloaded the xTools source, but cant find the routines to deal with mouse coordinates and transform3d rotations.

Can you be more specific ?

Anyway, if you are somehow connected with 3dchat.org people.... congratulations! Very nice project!!

ok.. let me clear where I got stuck...

I got my mouseMove event hooked up. So I have in every single frame a delta mouse coordinates.

Since I wont rotate my camera view in z-axes how can I find x-axes and y-axes using the delta mouse information ?

You could take a look a J3DFly 2.0 (http://java3d.netbeans.org) this includes a behavior that is similar to what you want (and includes collision detection).
