[JAVA3D-INTEREST] Using SceneGraph functionalities with occasional rendering

we use Java 3d in the context of simulation and genetic algorithms and
do a lot of transformGroup modifications and render very rarerly
using canvas3d.stop/startRenderer() .

My question : is it possible to use a scenegraph and all major
functionnalities (transform change and picking) while rendering one
frame every hour for display monitoring ?
It appears to work , but is there any hidden impact (ie on the
***Retained stuff) or has anybody experienced problem with it ?
