Additional node types (e.g. haptic rendering) - how hard?

Hello,

I was looking at the list of possible future features and came across the 'Additional node types (e.g., haptic rendering)' in the 2.0 release posibilities list. I was basically wondering if anyone had tried to do something like this already and if so what there experiences are/were. You may have guessed I'm interested in haptic rendering and I'm just trying to get an idea of how hard implementing this feature would be with the current code base.

Hi all,

could I sugest you to try the HaptikLibrary, http://www.haptiklibrary.org/
a new c++ library (it works also with Java,Matlab,...)
which provides a HAL for access to different, multiple, haptic devices.

THe URL
http://www.haptiklibrary.org/
appears to redirect to a very slow server. Is there another URL for the project?

Hi,

I’m trying to make a wrapper dll to the OpenHaptic Toolkit that can be called using JNI but I’m probably too lousy at c++ to make it work.
All I get is an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION from java VM when I’m trying to access the haptic dlls. I don’t think it should be too hard doing it this why.
If you are interested or anyone has any idea how to do the connection I’m glad to hear from you.
