[JAVA2D] transparent gif

how can I use sprites in gif format and have them partially transparent?

Flavius,

I belief GIF only supports transparent (not translucent) images.
However, you can always set the AlphaComposite on the destination
Graphics object to be translucent before you call drawImage()
with your sprite.
