[JAVA2D] Screen Flickering and related issues!

Hi all,
I am working on a problem in which I display images on the screen
(a JPanel). I can display them move them etc. But when I drag an item
from one place to the other, the screen flickers. Now I know it is due
to the paint() routine of my application. But can some one suggest a
solution to this problem? Similarly when I minimize the
screen or bring some other window on top of this Panel. The images
disappear on my returning back to it. Can anyone give me a good hint?

Waiting desperately

Are you changing the AffineTransform that gets passed in to your
paintComponent() method?
