JGoodies Looks 1.3.1 Released
Free High-Fidelity Windows and Multi-Platform Appearance
I've released the JGoodies Looks 1.3 and the 1.3.1 update.
The JGoodies Looks is a bundle that consists of a professional
Windows look&feel and the Plastic look&feel family.
These L&fs make your Swing apps and applets look better.
The JGoodies L&fs have been optimized for readability,
precise micro-design and usability. And they simplify the
multi-platform support by using similar widget dimensions.
In addition many people have reviewed them as elegant.
The 1.3 version fixes a couple of bugs and uses new package
and class names. Java 1.5 is now officially supported, but some
micro design improvements are still optimized for the Java 1.4.
The 1.3.1 update fixes a few other bugs, and includes two new
Plastic themes for Chinese, Korean, and other non-western fonts.
See the accompanying Release Notes for the change details.
Support is available through the users mailing list at java.net.
Please read the FAQ and do not send personal mail.
I could not convince any of the major Java vendors that
it's worth to sponsor these appearance improvements.
Therefore I'd appreciate if professional Looks users
help me finance my Java desktop activities by licensing
the commercial JGoodies Swing Suite. The Suite helps you
build sophisticated, professional and rich Swing clients.
I hope the JGoodies Looks package improves the readability,
legibility and elegance of your multi-platform screen design.
