Hi,

I couldn't find any source code distributions of GlassFish. Any reason why this is not available? I find using CVS to browse code is tedious and hopelessly inefficient. A source code distribution is useful as it allows people to download the code and have a look at it.

Thanks and Regards

Getting source from CVS is not the same, as ideally, the source should correspond to the version being tested.

You can check out the code from CVS, and that will let you look at the code very easily.

Here is some info on using CVS:

Providing a source code zip file may be also possible. See https://glassfish.dev.java.net/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=155 and add your comments there.

I am facing a hard time to find the source code of glassfish. On searching a bit I found this link - http://java.net/projects/glassfish/sources/svn/show
but the link shows updates being done very frequently. It would be very helpful if someone could share the right source code link.
Thank you in advance.

svn co https://svn.java.net/svn/glassfish~svn/tags/3.1

will give you the source code for GlassFish 3.1.

Dear Glassfish team,

Having a bundled version of sources as part of the build will enable us to debug easilly glassfish code an as a result will generate better issue repport : more consistent with build, more detailed, maybe even some patch (!!) provided.

Time save for us and time save for you !
As we have already access to it, I anticipate no legal issue at all ...

I think this is what we call win-win situation ? ;-)

Hope the one that is in control of the build script will hear us and add the small lines to package the sources for next major build ...

Best Regards,
JB
