No use of Javadocs in WSDL/Schema generation?

Will someone confirm that there are no options available that enable the use of javadocs to document the artifacts produced by the java to wsdl and/or java to schema generation mechanisms?

Personally, I think it would be a shame to have to lose such valuable information in the tranformation from the Java API to the XML API....

Thanks for the reply. I'm aware that there are options available to include JavaDocs in the generated *Java* code when generating Java from WSDL/Schema.

But I wanted to know if there were options available to put JavaDocs into the generated *WSDL/Schema* when generating from Java.

For example, given the following Java code:

/**
* A service that adds numbers.
*/
@WebService
public class AddNumbersImpl {

/**
* Adds some numbers.
*
* @param number1 The first number.
* @param number2 The second number.
* @return The sum
*/
public int addNumbers(int number1, int number2) {
...
}
}

generate the following snippet of WSDL:

...

A service that adds numbers.

Adds some numbers.
...

...

and the following snippet of schema:

The first number.

The second number.

The sum

There is no mechanism at this time, but this is something we can look into for a future version.

There actually are standard JAX-WS customizations to add JavaDocs. Please refer to Chapter 8 of the JAX-WS spec for more information.
