We are generating java classes from a wsdl. I'd like to mark up the wsdl with documentation so that it is pulled over into the javadocs of the generated classes. I can slap a ... on schema elements, but I can't seem to figure out where it should go so that the PortType interface is marked up with comments. Can you point me in the right direction?

The documentations in schema annotations are supposed to be pulled automatically into the javadoc.

If you don't see it happening, please file a bug in https://jaxb.dev.java.net/

Before I do, lets make sure that I'm not doing something stupid (which is the most likely answer).

if I define in foo.xsd

Description of do something.

Description of doSomething

...

Then in the foo.wsdl I define:

...

...

Then if I generate the java classes, the interface for 'MyPort' defines the 'doSomething' operation, but the javadocs are missing. I've tried adding annotations to the operation, the input and the message... but it doesn't seem to work.

Aha!

That part of the code is generated by JAX-WS, and I suspect that's why.

You might want to file an issue to https://jax-ws-sources.dev.java.net/ to track the progress.
