On my windows-box applets that start up with Tiger in 11s take more than 23s on Mustang which is a total regression (both are warm starts) which is than twice as long.
I hope this will become better in future - although I understand that for mustang the goals are for now different than providing fast startup I hope this will at least not get worse than Tiger

Can you help us identify exactly which build of Mustang you are using?

We are aware of some startup regressions that
occurred in b43 on Windows. This has already been
mitigated somewhat... so yes it will become better
in the future.

Our goal for Mustang is to have startup be *at least
as fast* as for Tiger.

P.S. For extra credit, what is the speed of the CPU
(one core, dual core, more?) amount of RAM and
version of Windows you are using?

Turn on tracing and see if you can tell where the hang up is.

no hang up - I just complained about slow plugin startup time.
Maybe a preloading-option would be great which keeps the mostimportant parts of java in RAM?
