A couple of days ago I saw a discussion in javalobby (http://www.javalobby.org/java/forums/t19610.html) talking about aspectJ and its cloudy future.

I used to be as Aspect Technology Enthusiastic and even made some researches and presentations around this subject. But after 2 years, I can't see a pruduct or really cool tool built upon it.

What happened to Aspect, and AspectJ (the first technology implementation) ? Is it really useful ?

AOP as a whole seems to have more or less died out recently.
