Hi,

I need to know if there's a way to display an Adobe Illustrator file (extension .ai) from a Java4.2+ client based application.
We have a customer that has tons of images of their inventory and we want to display them within our application, without having to open the Adobe Illustrator.
We currently use a Swing environment.

Thanks,
Juan Carlos

I am also searching for this functionality. My exact goal is to be able to convert an Adobe Illustrator file into a Java BufferedImage or RenderedOp. I wish to resize into a thumbnail for display.

I do not wish to write or modify an Illustrator file itself. I only wish to read, convert and scale the image for display on the web.

Thanks for any help regarding this functionality.

I settled on Imagero for .PSD support (Andrei, the programmer of this package, is very responsive)- and a JNI/Native solution - ImageMagick - for .EPS and .AI files.
