Currently the Solaris Sun C/C++ compilers used to officially build the J2SE 6.0 (Mustang) is version 8.0. It will be changing soon to version 10. See:
http://www.sun.com/software/products/studio/s10preview.html
for more information on these compilers.

It is likely that any version 8, 9, or 10 of the Sun Compilers will successfully build the J2SE 6.0, but testing inside Sun can realistically only be done on a J2SE built with one version of these compilers, and this will be changing to version 10 as soon as it is publicly available.
