I am trying to add a page to my wiki, but when I tried to save it, I received the error:

1 error prohibited this page from being saved
There were problems with the following fields:

Text XHTML end tag does not match start tag Element

Obviously, I am not doing any XHTML, so what's going on here? Are there any characters I'm not allowed to use? And if so, why doesn't the error message say so?

Could you provide more details so we can reproduce the problem? For example, a link to the wiki page and what you tried to add to the page.

The original, failing text is attached.

I was about to workaround the problem:

It doesn't seem to like text inside angle brackets (which Java uses for generics). Removing them made the problem go away.

The bug has been resolved. An example has been added to the quick reference for escaping text:

Surround the text you do not wish to be interpreted with the begin and end tag: nowiki
