Hello,
We implemented a new architecture for Enterprise Portals based on Ajax. Could you see the following sites http://code.google.com/p/ajaxportal/ and http://sokolovbook.narod.ru/en/ajaxportal.html which describe the architecture?
We are planning to propose a new JSR request for Java community which will specify portlets and portals of new generation.
P.S. I will very glad to receive any feedback from you!!!
Thanks in advanced.
Best regards,
Sergei Sokolov

in 1.3 of http://www.java.net/external?url=http://code.google.com/p/ajaxportal/, you stated it supports IE 6. Are you sure? IE 6 is quite old, while other browser versions are more current.

Yes, IE6 is old version, but Ajax Portal works in IE6 without troubles.
I test it with IE6, IE7, IE8. It works.
We found some bugs in previous version with IE, but we fixed them. During April the new version of Ajax Portal wil be released. You will able to test the new release in other version of IE ;-)))
