Hello there!

i want to use a bitmap font in a label with a size of about 60.

In the resource editor this works perfect (the preview), but when i test it on a device (Nokia C7) and the Desktop version, the lower part of the chars of the label gets cut!

Does someone know what i can do?

Thanks in advance

Due to a problem in JavaSE really large bitmap fonts (above 30 pixels) just don't work properly. We tried but failed to workaround this since this is a rather inherant issue in the JDK and the use case is problematic since an overly large font would also exceed J2ME device limitations in terms of image sizes/RAM required for the font.

This sucks! Do you have an idea how i can resolve this issue?

Is the only way to make a .png charset and load the chars like pictures? :(

Pretty much, I played with it quite a bit in the ResourceEditor/Ant task code and if you will look in there you will see various constants I just needed to add to get this working.
