John Zimmerman, who was the original Sun lead engineer for JAI and
the man whose idea it was, died
last Wednesday, February 9th at the age of 58 from kidney cancer. He
was an inspiration to many of us
and an interesting, often fun, sometimes maddening, man to work
with. He will be missed.

This is most sad. While John hasn't been involved in JAI for quite some
time, for those of us who were around in the early days, he was a
driving force.
