Is JDeveloper being used extensively or nominally now that Oracle has taken over Sun?

which other IDE is the most popular developer tool?

Is JEdit widely used?

Hi,

The popular IDE for Java development is Eclipse , NetBeans and Sun Java Studio. But for small applications JDeveloper, Jbuilder, Editplus is better.

It's another IDE, isn't necessary a lot of knowledge to use a new IDE.

Download it on official website: http://www.eclipse.org/

There are some versions for an especiffic use, you can use it for Web Development or just for JSE. One of the great advantages that you find on Eclipse is that you can integrate whit some plugins making a better IDE. For example: Android Development Plugin.
