Hi,

I'm trying to use jaxws-maven-plugin 2.2 with jdk 1.5 and I get

        at org.apache.maven.plugin.DefaultBuildPluginManager.executeMojo(DefaultBuildPluginManager.java:115)
        at org.apache.maven.lifecycle.internal.MojoExecutor.execute(MojoExecutor.java:209)
        ... 19 more
Caused by: org.apache.maven.plugin.PluginContainerException: Unable to load the mojo 'wsimport' in the plugin 'org.jvnet.jax-ws-commons:jaxws-maven-plugin:2.2' due to an API incompatibility: org.codehaus.plexus.component.repository.exception.ComponentLookupException: Bad version number in .class file

I've checked that class MainWsImportMojo has major version 50 so java 6.
Is there any reason for that?

BR,
Lukasz

Hi Lukasz,

main reason for using Java 6 is that previous version - java 1.5 - came to EOL more than two years ago - during october 2009 (actual EOL process started on April 8, 2008). See ie: http://www.adam-bien.com/roller/abien/entry/jdk_1_5_is_end or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Java_version_history#J2SE_5.0_.28September_...
