We have a large .ear file (dozens of EJBs).

Our latest development build has caused GlassFish to hang during asadmin
deploy.

Nothing shows up in the logs but GlassFish stops responding.

Any tricks from the community on where to start debugging this? I would
think (before I waste a good portion of my day wading around in heap dumps)
that if it were a straight-up memory problem I would see evidence in the
logs somewhere.

Best,
Laird

You can try to collect a jstack trace to see what is the server doing
when it's hanging, it might give you some clue...

Thanks. On a related subject, shouldn't it be the case that if I have the
following in my env output:

AS_ADMIN_READTIMEOUT=3600

...then asadmin should wait 60 * 60 = 3600 seconds until timing out?

It does not seem to be honoring this setting:

$ env | grep AS_ADMIN
AS_ADMIN_READTIMEOUT=3600
$ asadmin stop-domain domain1
Waiting for the domain to stop
.......................................................
Timed out (60 seconds) waiting for the domain to stop.
Command stop-domain failed.

Thanks,
Laird

Also discovered that jvisualvm has disappeared from my Macbook Pro with the
last Java update (I'm on Snow Leopard); just a heads up in case others do a
Google search on this.

What a week, I tell ya. :-)
