I'm just installed Glassfish 3.1.2
VirtualBox instance of Debian (stable)(squeeze). Hostname is lnxsvr
default version of Java (via debian's distro) which is JDK 6
installed Glassfish using this tutorial
https://blogs.oracle.com/foo/entry/how_to_run_glassfish_v3

Was able to successfully web to the front page once it started on port 8080
http://lnxsvr:8080/

When I bring up the console page at
http://lnxsvr:4848/
All I get is the copyright footer at the top of the page. No form. A quick look at the source shows that there is supposed to be something happening by way of Javascript, but nothing is. Using Firefox source view, I can click on the .js files and all loads with no broken links. All externally referenced resources are there. My Firebug console reports
TypeError: document.getElementById("loginButton") is null
Line 45

The page does not work in Comodo Dragon or Internet Explorer either (I am running windows 7 x64)

Any idea how to get into this admin console?

This is all new to me. I intend on learning Java EE.
