I can't get symlinks to work anywhere, and I can't get directory
listings to work for alternate docroots

I got directory listing to work by turning on Listings in ~domain1/config/default-web.xml I was able to use the admin gui to add the alternatedocroot_1 property to ~domain1/config/domain.xml under virtual server id=server, and also the allowLinking property in the same place. But:

No directory listings of my alternative docroot (but I do see regular files)
No symbolic links of my alternative docroot
No symbolic links in the docroot

Did u manually edited the domain.xml file and added alternate docroot.

If u added docroot through admin gui, kindly share the screenshot.
