Hi guys,
I've had so much trouble setting up a sample IIOP application. It's a basic iiop call between Glassfish 3.1.2 containers. The OS on both machines is Fedora 14 64 bit. I've had to change the server machine with a windows based one (win xp sp3). Are there known issues with Fedora? And if not, should I file a bug?
Regards
Alessandro

Hi Alessandro

I'm not aware of any Fedora specific known issue in IIOP. Did you try
the sample on any other Linux distribution - for example - Oracle Linux ?

Thanks,

Harshad

Hi Harshad,

thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I cannot test extensively those
sample apps because I'm home: I've got two Fedora based machines and an
old Windows based laptop :) . Anyway I'll try to change etc/hosts files
(I haven't a DNS server) and see if the situation improves.

Regards
Alessandro

check /etc/hosts file for any mapping for loopback address. In certain distro especially debian-based, the loopback ip is mapped to localhost. If so, remove that line. This is the only possible issue OS-specific I can think of.

I'll try to edit those files and see if the sample apps work on fedora too. Thank you Cheng.
