We have a ear package with:

3 war packages
77 ejb packages,
101 jar packages

The deployment of this ear package takes about 30 minutes.
It is too long for developers.
How can we analyse the deployment time on glassfish?
Is there maybe known bugs? Or our application is simple to big?

There was a known problem that was supposedly fixed in 3.12.

See: http://java.net/jira/browse/GLASSFISH-1709

Is your machine just slow? Do you have a version of GF where the deploys were faster?

Thank you for the answer.

- "Is your machine just slow?"
The most of our machines are Intel's i7 with 8Gb RAM.
And the deployment time is the same: 25-30 minutes.

- "Do you have a version of GF where the deploys were faster?"
No, we develop with GF since 3.0 and deployment time has been growing with the application size.

Yesterday, I have try to deploy to the latest 4.0-b36 and unfortunately deploy time was the same: ~25minutes.

Do I get more information about deploying, when I turn on the log level for some packages in logging.properties?

When I set javax.enterprise.system.tools.deployment.level to FINEST
I see at the start many entries like:

Fein: Adding jar to class path:file:/D:..../.jar
...
Fein: Adding jar to class path:file:/D:..../.jar

than

Fein: FileArchive.getSubArchive for D:...

after that comes only
Fein: Skipping D:\Glassfish_3.1.2_Developer\glassfish\domains\ascDomain\autodeploy\bundles because its name is in the list of files to ignore

and nothing more for 15-20 minutes.

I don't enough about the internal workings to say for sure, but it sounds like a bug. You might want to track down as much info as you can and then report the issue to JIRA.
