Hi,

I have installed ocap-ri emulator I1_2_3_REL_A-34529 in fedora 15.
I have modified the hostapp.properties to launch DVRExerciser.

When I tried to run the test app by lauching runRI.sh I am getting tuning
failure because of below VLC error.

Do I need to modify anything to fix this issue?
Why in a linux machine, the ri emulator is trying to fork "vlc.exe" ?

Please clarify.
Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Aathi

Did the installer create the following file?

/home/aathi/cablelabs/tags-RI_I1_2_3_REL_A-34529/ocap-ri/ricommon/resources/Linux/VLC/vlc.exe

If so, is it executable?

PS. The RI_I1_2_2_REL_F tag/release and trunk are more up-to-date than the 1.2.3 tag...

Thanks for your response.

Yes, the installer has created the required vlc file. This has executable
permission also.

STDError report:
---------------
/home/aathi/cablelabs/tags-RI_I1_2_3_REL_A-34529/ocap-ri/ricommon/resources/Linux/VLC/vlc.exe: error while loading shared libraries: libvlc.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

When I searched for libvlc.so.2 in my linux machine, I could see only
libvlc.so.5. (/usr/lib/libvlc.so.5).

Is this issue due to any specific version of VLC installed?
I have installed vlc 1.1.13 in my machine.

The /home/aathi/cablelabs/tags-RI_I1_2_3_REL_A-34529/ocap-ri/ricommon/resources/Linux/VLC/vlc.exe is just a symbolic link to /usr/bin/vlc for Linux installations. It is the responsibility of the user to provide a capable vlc installation on Linux.

If you type which vlc at the command line, does it report /usr/bin/vlc ?

If so, can you execute vlc and observe the GUI for it?

If not, re-install vlc...

I am able to launch the vlc from command line.

Attaching the screen shot for your reference.
