Mark Polishook

Mark Polishook is a new media artist and an arts and education technology specialist with interests in robotics, programming, digital audio, and improvised behavior, aka jazz. His Robots-in-Residence installation has been seen in Denmark and Poland and was a prize-winner in France. In 2004, PalmOne produced a Super Bowl commercial based on his Handheld Composing project.

Bioart? Java robotics?

Bioart presents interesting, subversive concepts in the arts. Are there metaphors, concepts or more, that transfer from bioart to (java) robotics? What might they be? How could the transfer work?

Chickadees + robots

Sound language for robots. It's true that in many cases, they don't need it - silent data transmission is efficient. On the other hand, audio simultaneously can encode information for robots & tell humans about system status.
