Geronimo Developer Notebook Preview

David Blevins leads a discussion on the first two chapters of the upcoming Geronimo: A Developer's Notebook. He writes " Geronimo is still young and going through many changes, which means this text may be largely different by the time it reaches its published form." These chapters "cover installing, running, and playing around with Geronimo."

EJB 3.0

In New Life for EJB, Ganesh Prasad and Rajat Taneja argue that the recent specification for EJB 3.0 (available on the JSR 220 page) does not solve the underlying problems of EJB but instead tries to hide them. In their paper (PDF, 532 KB), they spell out their objections to the EJB 3.0 spec and present what they believe to be a better alternative. A UML diagram (PDF, 80 KB) and javadocs (ZIP, 236 KB) are also available. Please join Ganesh and Rajat, who will moderate this discussion of EJB's, the 3.0 spec, and their proposed alternative.
