As in years past, Duke and his clan are getting ready for their annual end-of-year vacation. You're invited to send us a picture of where you think he will go and what you think he will do. Between now and Tuesday, December 19, 2006, you can send your pictures of Duke on vacation to us at
For inspiration, take a look at some of the pictures from the 2005,
2004, and
2003 holidays.
As you can see from the previous years' pictures, some people use Duke plushies (presumably from the JavaOne gift shop) in their pictures, while others digitally insert Duke images into existing pictures. The latter should be easier this year with the open-sourcing of Duke in the form of the Duke project on java.net, which offers a large collection of Duke images as well as 3D models created with Lightwave 3D.
Note that submissions should be tasteful and appropriate for display on this site. This is not a contest; we plan to show some or all of the submissions in an article at the end of the year.
