Duchess France

Duchess France, http://jduchess.org/duchess-france, is the French chapter of Duchess, a global network for women in Java technology http://jduchess.org. We provide a platform through which women can connect, get involved in the greater Java community and share information and ideas. Duchess currently has active networks in the Netherlands, Brazil and France.

French chapter activity is aimed at

• increasing women participation in user groups and conferences
• developing our skills though collaborative learning
• encouraging women to work in Java Technology

We welcome all women in France and nearby who are interested in Java technology, programming, designing and improving our teamwork. We also welcome men who share our vision and want to join our community.

We are a virtual community. Members participate though a social network, a community blog (both hosted at http://jduchess.org/duchess-france) and a mailing list (http://groups.google.com/group/duchessfr). Members in Paris area have presence meetings at the Paris JUG meeting each month.

We participate in a lot of national and internal conferences like Soft Shake 2010 or Devoxx 2010.
