I'd not be surprised if the person creating the poll does want to indicate just that, that Java is all but dead, hanging in there by its bloody fingernails, while other languages keep the platform alive.
I've been seeing ever more such sentiment on java.net lately, and Sun's constant screaming about "new languages on the JVM", "change the name of the JVM to remove the J", and investment in things like JRuby doesn't bode well for their opinions re the language either (but their decisions where it comes to language changes over the last few years show that as well of course). |
