Extreme Programming
Using a compression filter can greatly reduce the size of the content your server sends to a client. Usually the overhead of using a compression filter is negligable, but sometimes you need to know what the overhead is. Here is a simple timing test to get a rough idea of how much longer it takes to send a compressed response.
