Mark A. Carlson, Senior Architect at Sun Microsystems' Storage Group, has more than 25 years of experience with Networking and Storage development and more than ten year's experience with Java technology. He has spoken at numerous industry forums and events. He serves on the SNIA Technical Council, and represents Sun Microsystems on the DMTF Technical Committee as well as the DMTF Board of Directors where he serves as VP of Alliances.

One of the interfaces that Project Royal Jelly will be using is a brand new industry standard.

The eXtensible Access Method (XAM) is new kind of storage interface for storage devices that can handle a special type of data, called "Fixed Content".

Project Royal Jelly is a new project to add interfaces which allow Java to be used in the Data Path of storage devices. One of the standards we will be leveraging is the storage industry standard XAM interface for fixed content.

An initial code drop has been made at the project web site.
