2004 JavaOne Conference: The Java Developer Timeline

Posted by frosty on July 2, 2004 at 11:15 AM PDT

One of the really cool things at this year's JavaOne was the Java Developer Timeline. James Gosling wrote about it in his blog, and I rather like his term of "organic expression." Mary wrote about it as well. It was interesting to watch how it affected people - how they interacted with it, and how it drew them like a magnet. Hoffie (a friend of mine) called it "a real life wiki."

Someone asked if there was going to be pictures posted. So here you are. Pictured below is the small version. You can download the large version if you want, which I've split into two pieces.

Late edit: I received some pretty good pictures from John Todd, who has been taking all the 2004 JavaOne press pictures for Sun. The photos are by panel.

Enjoy! If there are other large versions out there, please post the URLs in the comments.
