Marc Hadley

Marc is a Principal Engineer with the Mitre Corporation where he works on a variety of projects for federal agencies. Prior to joining Mitre, Marc was a Java and Web Services Architect at Sun Microsystems where he lead the development of JSR 311, a Java API for RESTful Web Services and JSR 224 a Java API for SOAP-based services. Marc represented Sun Microsystems in the W3C XML Protocol and W3C Web Services Addressing working groups where he was co-editor of the SOAP 1.2 and WS-Addressing specifications. Marc also served as the technical lead for Sun's participation at the Web Services Interoperability Organisation (WS-I).

I've spent some time fleshing out the code in the experimental declarative hyperlinking module I blogged about earlier. In that earlier entry I showed how you could use the new @Link annotation with existing URI templates either explicitly like this:

One of the areas I'm keen to improve in the next version of JAX-RS is link creation. JAX-RS already offers UriBuilder but I think an annotation driven approach could save a lot of repetitive coding.

JAX-RS 1.1 Draft Available

A draft of the JAX-RS 1.1 specification and API is now available. We're now working on implementing the new features in Jersey and adding corresponding tests to the TCK.
